Making Document Workflows Easier to Trust
I worked on keeping jobs connected to the right documents, with a focus on exact versions and safely recovering when part of the process fails.
I’ve been working on a workflow that turns incoming tasks into jobs with supporting documents. Much of my attention went to what happens when a job is created, but linking its files fails.
I worked through how to make that unfinished work visible and allow recovery without creating another job. I also focused on keeping the exact document version used at creation, so a later upload cannot quietly change the information behind it.
The work brought together domain design, background processing, data storage, and the user interface. What looked like a simple “attach some files” feature became a useful lesson in helping people understand what succeeded, what is missing, and what they can safely try again.
